PATRIARCHY - Deeply Rooted

Patriarchy is a form of social organization in which males dominate females. Nature makes diversity but not hierarchy, not inequality. It has never been stated that an elephant is better than a mouse, a rose is better than a cactus or a man is better than a woman, and vice versa. This inequality is created by society (basically 'us'). Our society puts labels of gender, religion, caste, nationality, etc. which creates discrimination among people. If you contemplate, you will find that there are more similarities than differences between men and women. I think the primary (maybe the only) difference is Physical i.e. Reproductive System. The differences are not related to jobs, careers, or other activities. It is not important that the Vice-Chairman or the Chief Minister is a man or a woman, or the chef in a restaurant is a male or a female chef. Nature has not created any of these differences. Popular Men on Patriarchy Periyar EV Ramasamy made sure that women took part in polit...

WASTE SEGREGATION

Image
This is going to be an uncomplicated but important topic. We'll be discussing the segregation of 'waste' in this blog.  Let's Begin... Waste segregation   means dividing  waste  into dry and wet. Dry  waste  includes wood and related products, metals, and glass. Wet  waste  typically refers to organic  waste  usually generated by eating establishments and is heavy in weight due to dampness. SEGREGATION OF HOUSE WASTE 1) Wet Waste/Kitchen Waste - This comprises items like fruit peels , leftovers , vegetable skins , uncooked food , coffee or tea powder,  and garden waste  like leaves and twigs. Maintain a bin to separate it from other wastes so that it can be converted into rich organic compost. 2) Dry Waste - It is divided into Recyclable & Non- Recyclable waste. 3) Sanitary Waste - Sanitary waste includes diapers  (adults & babies), synthetic sanitary napkins , hygiene-related products , condoms , tampons , soiled ...

RISING AIR POLLUTION

Image
Air Pollution in India is a serious health issue. In the Northern part of the country, it increases even more around the festival of Diwali, making it a cause of great concern for the government (sadly not the people). The time between October 15 and November 15 is considered critical for majorly Delhi-NCR's air quality due to certain reasons. REASONS  - ⇨ STUBBLE BURNING - In short, the production of crops has also increased the agricultural waste and generation of husk. Farmers usually gather the husk and put them on fire as it is the easiest way to dump it. However, doing so creates a serious issue that is directly linked to our environment. A large number of toxic gases are emitted into our atmosphere. The toxic gases become the cause of numerous health issues. Studies have shown that Stubble Burning has caused great deterioration in the air quality of Punjab and Haryana (primarily). ⇨ WEATHER PATTERNS -  The continuous increase in anthropogenic emissions of carbo...

ANIMAL CRUELTY

Image
Cruelty  to  animals  , also called  animal  abuse,  animal  neglect or  animal cruelty,  is the infliction by omission (neglect) or by commission by humans of suffering or harm upon any non-human.    In simple words, it is the abuse, harm or neglect intentionally towards an animal.  It is that simple.  Everyday countless cats, dogs and other animals suffer and die as a result of cruelty imposed by the very people who are expected to protect and care for them. Especially during Covid, many street animals were neglected thinking that they would infect the people. Some people even abandoned their pets thinking that they are harmful. Forget Covid , people throw their pets away( especially dogs) when they age. Let's have a look at few cases which we usually ignore or try to ignore. ⇨ SOME CASES  : ✱ Carcasses of nearly 90 stray dogs were found in Buldhana district of Maharashtra. The dogs were killed to check the stray p...

POPULATION GROWTH

Image
"Overpopulation in various countries has become a serious threat to the health of people and a grave obstacle to any attempt to organize peace on this planet."                                          - Albert Einstein The population is a term referring to a group of " species " living in the land area . So as the word says a group of "species", it means that both humans and animals live together and enjoy the resources equally. But are we even using them correctly or just reserving them for us and not sharing with others. The reason why humans are not sharing their resources with animals is that the ratio of humans to animals is more. Humans are increasing day-by-day which emanates that they need more area to live and explore by taking away the animal's land (forest). Moreover, increased human being growth is not only affecting the animal but it is also eminently affecting everythi...

Importance of FEMALE EDUCATION

Image
Men and women are the two wheels of  the social cart.   For a  smooth & harmonious running of social and family life men and women both must be well-developed.  I t may be true that in majority of cases the girl doesn't become the bread-winner of the family but in this process of thought we are inclined to forget that - to give birth to the next generation and bring up this new generation is the basic and important task not only for the family but also for the society. Around the world, girls and women are treated as number two citizens, especially in India. All luxuries, comforts and even necessities must first be provided to boys and men and then,( if available) can be distributed to girls and women.  Let's divide this in two sections:                      ① Important  for  Family                             ...

Look at your LANGUAGE!!!!

Image
Language is a type of expression or in a defined way, it is the method of humans communication in a conversational way. It can be oral or written as the only thing that matters that it should convey your thoughts. But, are we using our language in a way we wanted to use or in a way people wanted us to use? In this "Vogue" world we all just focus on using foreign languages as we think that they make us "elegant" and "millennium". This need to being "millennium" has kept us away from our culture of speaking " HINDI" the mother tongue of India. Once Nelson Mandela had said that- " If you talk to man in a language he understands,  that goes to his head; If you talk to him in his language ,  that goes to his heart." Importance of mother tongue - Well, all this is a theoretical based concept on the importance of mother tongue. But my question is that  can you imagine a day without you speaking HINDI? The answer might be yes for mo...
