Hello everyone, in the previous blog we were talking about the benefits and some plant suggestions of verdure in your home.
For today we will talk about all things we should keep in mind while and after you grow a plant in your home. While setting up an indoor garden you need to know there are two types of plants "indoor and outdoor " with completely different care and maintenance. To know more we did some research , spoke with a nursery in-charge and took some tips from our mother to bring out the best tips and suggestions for your sweet home garden.
CARE & MAINTENANCE:-
I. Indoor plants-
- Indoor plants are usually already in containers, so there is no need to plant them in another planter. If your plant grows in size then you will have to change the planter definitely.
- Succulents (their leaves have the ability to hold moisture) and cacti need continuous and daily sunlight. Otherwise, indoor plants need roughly 3-4 hours of sunlight daily. It is better to place your plants in a bright area of your room where some sunlight is available.
- Watering the indoor plant is the trickiest part. Both excess or lack is harmful to the plant. Whenever you see that the leaves of your plant are discolored or misshapen, it means that your plant is overwatered.
- Indoor plants usually need less amount of water. I water my indoor plants twice a week or even once when it comes to snake plants.
- Do not keep them in the corner of the room. It is essential for them to breathe some air.
- Plants like Bonsai and Jade need to be pruned occasionally to help new leaves grow. Keep in mind- To Prune does not mean cutting the leaves completely and making the plant leafless.

II. Outdoor plants-
- Outdoor plants need sunlight, water, and air regularly. It is better to water your plants in the morning so that photosynthesis can take place during sunlight hours. It is advisable to arrange your plants in a certain way in which every plant gets proper sunlight and air, keeping in mind their size and foliage.
- Fertilizers are also an important aspect that people usually overlook. Plants inside the house require less fertilizer in comparison to those outsides.
- Bugs may affect your plant adversely. I still remember, last year a grasshopper ate the leaves of my guava tree. Use insect-repellent to keep you safe from insects and bugs. Spray it on the plants to repel the insects.
- The need for outdoor plants has increased during the pandemic. This is because we have realized the importance of oxygen and fresh air.
Plants are an essential resource. Having said that, there are still many people who don't pay any heed to their importance and cut them down for their selfish reasons. There are many news articles being published about the shedding of trees in a country where pollution is highest, we are still killing the source of fresh air around us.
Plantation in the home is a task with full responsibility. Though it looks beautiful, pleasing, refreshing, and soothing but it needs proper care just like a child.
