Importance of FEMALE EDUCATION

Men and women are the two wheels of the social cart.
For a smooth & harmonious running of social and family life men and women both must be well-developed. It may be true that in majority of cases the girl doesn't become the bread-winner of the family but in this process of thought we are inclined to forget that - to give birth to the next generation and bring up this new generation is the basic and important task not only for the family but also for the society.
Around the world, girls and women are treated as number two citizens, especially in India. All luxuries, comforts and even necessities must first be provided to boys and men and then,( if available) can be distributed to girls and women.

Let's divide this in two sections:                     Important  for Family                                   Important for Society                                    Important for Themselves

๐ŸŒŸImportant for Family

If family is the first school of education for a child, then mother is the first teacher. Whatever the mother teaches the child is deeply embedded in the head, heart and even the little soul. So, if the first teacher is uneducated, how can the family be a good school for the child?                                                                                    A woman has not only the role of nurturing & nursing a child, but she has also the role of managing the household responsibilities. An educated housewife can manage those affairs far better than an illiterate one. She can maintain the accounts of the household expenses and devise ways of pulling them up economically.

๐ŸŒŸ Important for Society

Out of the four walls of the house, a woman has several roles to play in every sphere where Human has his possession. She needs to take part in social, commercial, political and administrative fields. She is a poet, a writer, an artist, a scientist and what not. If she is uneducated, she cannot play a role in all these fields. If she is educated, she can make the society a better place to live in.

๐ŸŒŸ Important for Themselves

Educated women are more aware of their rights and entitlements. They are more likely to resist violence , send their children to beneficial school and participate in their studies. Educated women are more confident, self-dependent and clear-headed.

๐Ÿ“š In ancient India, women were not denied the right of getting education. They were educated fully well as compared to today. They were sent to ashrams to get education and become a better version of themselves. Moreover, they were also trained in the arts of singing, dancing, drawing and painting. Women like Lilavati (Mathematician); Maitreyi and Vidyottma (philosophers) ; Gargi, Anusuriya, Shakuntala, and many others are the examples of learned women of India.

๐Ÿ“šDuring the British period, women had a little freedom of getting education. Girls' schools and colleges were established by the government to promote education. But it was limited to a few families.

๐Ÿ“š Since India attained freedom, it became obvious that proper attempts be made for popularization of women education not only in cities and towns but also in rural India to bring Indian women out of the bondage. A large amount of money began to be allotted for its expansion.

Now, it is absolutely essential for us to reconsider and mend our ways & attitudes towards girls and their education. If this is not given an immediate boost, the growth of the nation will be halted. After all, how can we expect growth & progress when half of our population remains bereft of the basic gift of Education.
