Look at your LANGUAGE!!!!

Language is a type of expression or in a defined way, it is the method of humans communication in a
conversational way. It can be oral or written as the only thing that matters that it should convey your thoughts. But, are we using our language in a way we wanted to use or in a way people wanted us to use? In this "Vogue" world we all just focus on using foreign languages as we think that they make us "elegant" and "millennium". This need to being "millennium" has kept us away from our culture of speaking "HINDI" the mother tongue of India.

Once Nelson Mandela had said that-

" If you talk to man in a language he understands, that goes to his head;

If you talk to him in his language , that goes to his heart."

Importance of mother tongue-

Well, all this is a theoretical based concept on the importance of mother tongue. But my question is that can you imagine a day without you speaking HINDI? The answer might be yes for most of you as we think that we are very comfortable in speaking "English" and also it makes us look educated. And if we choose to speak HINDI we look like an illiterate person which non-one can afford.

As we are discussing the importance of mother tongue so let me tell you one thing that you might be comfortable speaking "English" which is good but you can't speak this for a long period of time. As we have to think and form the conversation if we are conversing in any foreign language. But if we are talking in our mother tongue we can conversate very easily as we know it since we were taught when we were born so we don't have to think much while conversating.

Let me tell you that learning foreign language is not a bad thing as it improves your spectrum of speech and also increases your vocabulary. But what I am trying to say is that we should give more preference on speaking our mother tongue. Foreign language can be used as a substitue language for making your point more clear. For example countries like China, Russia, Japan and India, etc. use their mother tongue as national language and a foreign language as second language.

Reference

To make my point more clear I want to share a chapter that I have read in my school. It's all about emerging the importance of mother tongue. The chapter name was "The last lesson" by Alphonse Daudet. The story line was set in late France when it was captured by the Prussian army. This succession had imposed a rule to discontinue teaching French and start teaching German as the new national language. There were two main characters, one was the teacher and other his students. The teacher was very passionate on teaching french to the students but the students were not interested in learning it before. After the rule was imposed everyone was shocked that they can not speak their native language anymore. It created the importance of mother tongue in every student ,as they fell like the bird without their vocals.

Through this example I just want to convey that we should not wait for our language to be taken away and then realise the importance. We should respect our mother tongue and stop degrading it.
