ANIMAL CRUELTY

Cruelty to animals , also called animal abuse, animal neglect or animal cruelty, is the infliction by omission (neglect) or by commission by humans of suffering or harm upon any non-human.  

In simple words, it is the abuse, harm or neglect intentionally towards an animal. It is that simple. 

Everyday countless cats, dogs and other animals suffer and die as a result of cruelty imposed by the very people who are expected to protect and care for them. Especially during Covid, many street animals were neglected thinking that they would infect the people. Some people even abandoned their pets thinking that they are harmful. Forget Covid , people throw their pets away( especially dogs) when they age.

Let's have a look at few cases which we usually ignore or try to ignore.

⇨ SOME CASES :

✱ Carcasses of nearly 90 stray dogs were found in Buldhana district of Maharashtra. The dogs were killed to check the stray population.

✱ Dozen puppies were found hammered to death in Goregaon. Some of them hadn't opened eyes ; others were only three weeks old. They were dropped from a height and subjected to tortures before being killed.

✱ A dog was raped in Kharghar (Navi Mumbai). Doctors said she was unable to stand due to multiple fractures and was in trauma.

✱ Seven dogs were killed mercilessly after being tortured in the Dwarka area.

And many more......

⇨ HOW CAN WE STOP ANIMAL ABUSE??

๏ Be a responsible pet owner.

๏ Teach children how to be compassionate towards animals and not treat them like toys. Creating awareness is important.

๏ If not turning a complete vegetarian, try and eat lesser meat; it is also better for your health (including economic) and the planet.

๏ Adopt a pet instead of Buying.

๏ Stand up for Animal Cruelty wherever you see any misbehaviour. Don't ignore even if it's your relative.

  We must speak for those who can't speak for themselves. 

๏ The government should ban using animals for entertainment purposes whether in a zoo or in a circus.

๏ Animals should not be chained or kept in cages. Can you be in a cage???

Lastly, it's really simple and mandatory to understand that Animals don't require our permission to live on the earth. They were given the right to be here long before we arrived.
